TipOne® is evolving!
Starting 2 January 2025, we began the process of moving TipOne® manufacturing from the USA back to Germany. See Press Article for more information.
We are closing the loop!
The manufacturing move to Germany also signals the next milestone on the sustainable journey for TipOne®. We will now start to use the plastic collected from the TipOne® recycling service in the base of our TipOne® racks!
Key benefits of a closed loop recycling system:
- turns waste into a resource
- reduces raw material use, conserves natural resources
- lowers greenhouse gas emissions, and
- saves energy. Recycling processes require less energy compared to production from raw materials
Together with our customers, who continue to support and use the TipOne® recycling collection service, we are taking steps toward a greener, more sustainable future for pipetting.
The TipOne® evolution...
Jan-25: Closing the loop! Manufacturing move to Germany begins and TipOne® rack base made with recycled TipOne® plastic*.
*Racks made in Germany only. Rack base comprises 75 % TipOne® recyclate / 25 % recyclate from other source).
Jun-24: Start of manufacturing the base of TipOne® racks with 25% recycled plastic.
Jul-23: Start of manufacturing the clear polypropylene packaging components of TipOne® refills from 100% recycled plastic.
2021: TipOne® recycling service in partnership with Remondis begins, with long-term aim to reuse the plastic in our own manufactured products.
2016: First new TipOne® Sterile refills available, offering a plastic saving of 63% compared to the racked equivalent. (1000 & 1250 µl volumes, 53 % saving).
2015: System redesign also considers improved recyclability. All system components now made from polypropylene, and paper labels on TipOne® racks removed.
2015: System redesign with new look and long-term sustainability plan. The new TipOne® racks see a 6% raw material reduction compared to the old-style racks.
2013: New pipette tips. Reduced raw material use for their manufacture compared to the equivalent older tips, without compromise to tip fit or quality.
1998: TipOne® is born. A pipette tip system designed to save plastic waste with its reusable rack and the first, easy to use refill system available on the market.
